Responsibilities
Clinical Lead Social Worker (LICSW Required): DFCI Regional Campus locations
Exciting and challenging opportunity to join the social work leadership team at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The Clinical Lead Social Worker functions as a clinical supervisor and staff manager, whose expertise, knowledge, clinical acumen, relational skill, and equanimity provide foundational support for clinical social work staff. The Clinical Lead Social Worker plays a vital role in daily clinical operations, clinical practice, and programmatic development of the social work division.
The Clinical Lead Social Worker also has direct clinical responsibilities that calls for psychosocial assessment and intervention and ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team. Candidate must be able to thrive in a fast paced, complex, academic medical environment where the social worker is a key, valued member of the multidisciplinary medical team.

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from accredited program
- LICSW in MA (and state specific based on location).
- 8 years social work practice in health care, minimum of 2 years in oncology setting or with oncology patients, clinical supervisory experience required, program or project experience preferred. Bilingual a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Expert knowledge of psychosocial interventions related to impact of cancer inclusive of mental health, behavioral health, emotional, relational, and other social needs.
- Expert knowledge of interdisciplinary teamwork and team dynamics, scope of key partnerships and interprofessional roles.
- Highly skilled at providing consultation to staff and team around complex patient management, including ethical issues.
- Expert ability to address problems that are highly varied and complex while incorporating interprofessional input and managing team-related stress.
- Exhibits emotional intelligence; both awareness of oneself and how they affect others.
- Depersonalizes and integrates feedback given into actionable behaviors.
- Strong organizational skills: ability to triage, determine priorities, and role model adaptability and flexibility.
- Demonstrates initiative to create and achieve goals even when faced with barriers.
- Ability to assist staff with their performance, in accordance with institutional and departmental standards and policies.
- Ability to contribute to profession, care, education and training through leadership, presentations, publications.
- Demonstrates commitment to diversity and equity efforts, including advocacy and self-education to advance knowledge base of the needs and concerns of underserved and marginalized populations.
Schedule
This position requires the ability to travel across DFCI Network locations and to quickly assimilate to new environments and foster team relationships at each DFCI location.
M-F; 40 hours/week; Hybrid schedule 3 days on-site/2 days remote
